Learning Objectives

  1. Discover what Parkinson’s disease is and how it affects the body.

  2. Develop a toolkit for your clients which utilizes a popular form of exercise to combat the effects of the disease.

  3. Recognize how this program can also be used to help elderly populations achieve better fitness levels as well.

  4. Recognize the key components for safety with each of these populations.

  5. Assemble boxing programming for clients in a safe and effective way.

  6. Understand how to regress and progress movements as needed.

Parkinson’s disease affects a million people every year in the United States. It’s a neurological disorder in which the body loses its ability to control itself in its movements. This disease is extremely debilitating, but there are workouts that can be conducted in conjunction with their treatment which can directly lead to a better quality of life and facilitate a greater range of motion and ability.

Furthermore, this practice is extremely effective with older populations as well. As such, this course is great for both of these groups of special populations. Join Colleen Bridges as she gives the secrets to helping these populations find success in achieving their goals through the great sport of boxing!
